Privacy Policy

Effective date: 3 April 2026 · Last updated: 3 April 2026

The short version: VoiceCraft keeps core state device-first, may send coaching requests to configured runtime providers, and stores limited operational account, billing, and product events needed to run the service. We do not sell personal data.

1. Who we are

VoiceCraft is published by BrightNTech.AI, a commercial brand of 7Milestone SASU, a simplified joint-stock company (Société par Actions Simplifiée Unipersonnelle) incorporated under the laws of France, with its registered office in Paris, France.

Contact: legal@brightntech.ai

As a company established in France and operating within the European Union, VoiceCraft is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

2. What data VoiceCraft processes

VoiceCraft processes the following categories of data in a device-first, cloud-assisted configuration:

Data typeWhere it goesRetained?
Audio from your microphone Captured in the browser and may be sent to configured speech-processing services needed to deliver transcription. No raw audio is retained by default in the VoiceCraft application database
Transcript text Stored in the local VoiceCraft database and may be sent to configured coaching models to generate responses and feedback. Yes — local session history is retained on the device unless deleted
Coaching responses Generated by configured VoiceCraft runtime services and stored in the local VoiceCraft database. Yes — local session history is retained on the device unless deleted
Proficiency scores & session history Computed by the application and stored in the local VoiceCraft database. Yes — in your local database unless deleted
Account, billing, and product events Stored by VoiceCraft to operate freemium onboarding, billing, entitlement restore, abuse prevention, and service administration. Yes — retained as operational service records

VoiceCraft does not use third-party ad trackers or marketing pixels. In hosted or cloud-assisted configurations, VoiceCraft may send coaching requests to configured AI providers and may record first-party product, billing, and conversion events needed to operate freemium limits, prevent abuse, and manage upgrades. Those operational events are limited to service administration and are not sold to advertisers.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR Article 6)

Where VoiceCraft is used in a networked or hosted configuration (e.g. a shared server), the legal basis for processing any personal data is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, providing the coaching service the user has explicitly requested. In a purely local, single-user configuration, no GDPR processing relationship arises because no personal data leaves the user's own device or household.

4. Data retention

VoiceCraft keeps primary session and learner state in a local SQLite file (voicecoach.db) on your device. Operational account, billing, and entitlement records may also exist on VoiceCraft-managed infrastructure where required to run paid plans, restore access, or prevent abuse. You may delete the local database file at any time to remove local state, but doing so does not automatically remove any server-side billing or account records.

5. Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Lodge a complaint — with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés), the French data protection authority: cnil.fr

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise the rights of access, erasure, and portability directly by inspecting or deleting your local voicecoach.db file. For any other requests, contact legal@brightntech.ai.

6. Third-party services

VoiceCraft does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The application loads fonts from Google Fonts (Cormorant Garant and DM Sans) when an internet connection is available. This request is made directly by your browser to Google's servers and is subject to Google's privacy policy. To avoid this, you may host the fonts locally.

7. Children

VoiceCraft is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us at legal@brightntech.ai.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of VoiceCraft after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
